    Order of Christian Initiation
    • OCIA is an open-ended process of spiritual formation for children and/or teenagers interested in experiencing the beautiful Catholic faith tradition. It is important for children and teens to learn who God is, why He loves us. We want our candidates to know how being a part of something bigger affects our daily life & all that we do!

OCIA is for Individuals who are:

      • not baptized in the Catholic faith
      • baptized Catholics who have not yet received the sacraments of Eucharist, Reconciliation & Confirmation
      • baptized in another Christian, trinitarian faith (please contact the office for more information on this)

A person may begin at any time of the year with no commitment and no obligation. *If someone enters OCIA in September of 2025, they will continue to participate in OCIA and will typically receive their Sacraments at Easter 2027*

During OCIA, we have a team committed to your child/teen's faith and want to help them deepen - or start - their relationship with Christ through learning about our faith and experiencing the Sacraments. The St. Lawrence Community is always excited to welcome new members into our Parish Community!

If you are considering having your child/teen become involved in OCIA, or they have expressed interest in becoming Catholic themselves, please do not hesitate to contact me with questions!
