Talent Show night at Young Adult Ministry in August 2024. It was my very first time attending YAM Monday night session, and what did I find but a talent show happening. Sarah Bacon was kind enough to let me borrow her ukulele, and Nathan Trelease was kind enough to let me sign up last-minute, despite me having just met everyone for the first time. They allowed me to perform in the lineup, and it made me feel like a part of the group. It was a great time, and I'll never forget it. Since then, more musical experiences such as through Les' leadership in the Adult Choir have enriched my St. Lawrence experience and community. I couldn't be more thankful.
Heavenly Father, With grateful hearts, we come before You to celebrate 70 years of grace and blessings poured upon the St. Lawrence Martyr Parish community.
You have faithfully guided this community from its humble beginnings to a vibrant beacon of faith, hope, and love. We thank You for the founding members, the clergy, religious, and parishioners - past and present - whose devotion, sacrifices, and service have built up the Body of Christ in this place. May their legacy continue to inspire us to live the Gospel with zeal and compassion. Lord, through the intercession of St. Lawrence, our Patron and Martyr, who gave his life in joyful service to the poor and Your Church, grant us the courage to serve with the same love, humility, and strength. Continue to renew our hearts, deepen our faith, and unite us as one family in Christ. As we celebrate this Platinum Jubilee, may St. Lawrence Martyr Parish always be A Place to Belong – a parish of welcome, worship, and witness - shining with the Light of Christ for generations to come. We make this prayer through our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, forever and ever. Amen. St. Lawrence Martyr, pray for us.
